I’ll admit it to all of you. I’m a great big coward.
Despite its growing popularity, I never read much in the dystopian genre, because I’m more of a happily-ever-after kind of girl. So when Suzanne Collin’s novel The Hunger Games came out, I heard just enough about the plot to make me afraid to read it. But then they announced the making of the movie, and I said, “What the flip! Seriously???”
Yea… seriously. Okay. Now here’s my problem.
Suddenly, it seems like I might be missing out on something important. I mean, I can’t swing a stick and not hit someone who LOVES The Hunger Games. Right? And I’m thinking I need to stop being a whiny crybaby, and just read the darn series. Or see the movie. Or something.
So, what do you think? Do I need to put on my Big Girl Panties and do this, or what? And please, give me a good reason why, because I don’t want to go through several boxes of Kleenex and end up regretting it. Is it worth it? Will I be impressed when I’m done, and want to run out and buy the sequel? They say the movie won’t be as intense. Should I watch that instead of reading the book?
If you’ve got time, give me a push in the right direction. Tell me how you feel about the series. Thanks!!!
